The Council has undertaken its scoping consultation, which represents the first stage of public engagement in preparing the South Staffordshire Local Plan (SSLP). This consultation sought views from residents, stakeholders and other interested parties on the issues and challenges that the SSLP should seek to address and what the plan should contain. As part of this stage, a draft Community Engagement Strategy and a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Scoping Report were also published.

The consultation was open for six weeks between 10th June 2026 until midday on 22nd July 2026.
