Community Governance Review 2025/26
South Staffordshire Council is launching a Community Governance Review across the district that focuses on how parish councils are set up and governed locally - separate from any wider Local Government Reorganisation consultation.
Parish councils play an important role in managing local services like community centres, allotments, and war memorials. The review aims to ensure these councils remain effective, fair, and representative of their communities.
We invite all residents, parish councils, community groups, and interested stakeholders to share their views through our online survey (printed copies available on request by emailing elections@sstaffs.gov.uk or visiting us at the Codsall Community Hub). Your feedback will help decide if parish boundaries, council sizes, electoral arrangements, or parish groupings should change. Please note, all representations are required by law to be published but, if you are an individual, your name and contact details will not be published.

Phases
Phase 4 - Preparing Final Recommendations
We are now reviewing all feedback received during the consultation on the draft recommendations. This input will inform the preparation of final recommendations which are expected to be published on Wednesday, 25th March. If required, these will be presented to Council for approval and the making of a Reorganisation Order.
