South Staffordshire Local Plan - Call for Sites

The title South Staffordshire Local Plan, with Council Logo

Alongside a Scoping Consultation, the council is undertaking a Call for Sites. This invites landowners, developers and other interested parties to submit land for consideration for a range of uses, including housing, traveler sites, employment sites, renewable energy and retail. The call for sites allows us to understand what sites options we have for different types of development. It is important to note that this is a land availability exercise, and it does not necessarily mean that these sites are suitable for development. Through the plan-making process, the Council will determine how much growth should be included in the plan, and where it should be located.

Please note that sites submitted through previous calls will not automatically be carried forward and must be resubmitted here for consideration as part of this process.

The council is accepting site submissions as part of this Call for Sites process between 10th June 2026 and 22nd July 2026. Site submissions must be made by midday on 22nd July 2026.

Alongside this, the Council is also undertaking its Scoping Consultation for the South Staffordshire Local Plan. More information can be found at: https://engage.sstaffs.gov.uk/projects/scoping-consultation.

Call for Sites

10 June 2026 08:00 - 22 July 2026 11:00

This exercise invites stakeholders to submit land or buildings that may be suitable for future development or other uses. Submissions will help inform the evidence base for the Local Plan. The council will undertake a thorough review the site submissions before concluding which ones may be considered suitable for development, and further updates will be posted in due course.

The consultation will run from 10th June 2026 until midday on 22nd July 2026.

Please note that the consultation system only accepts one submission per user per consultation. If you do start the form before you are ready to submit, you can leave the platform and the system will save your progress so you can continue at a later time (but before the consultation closes). If you need to submit multiple sites on behalf of different landowners or site promoters, please note the form will give you the option to add multiple sites prior to submitting. Once you click ‘submit’ you will not be able to make further comments.

To assist, a preview of the online representation form can be found under the 'Submitting a Site' section above, or here.
